A star is born

A Star Nosed Mole, that is. DH is like the Crocodile Hunter of small animals. lol He captured this little guy darting across the yard. We didn't even know they lived here! I've always wanted to see one up close. They are super cute! Of course we let him go, back to eating insects and just looking cool.

And FYI, these little guys eat insects and grubs and pretty much leave gardens alone.

Ugly little suckers, aren't they? Our cat used to bring us one or two a year when he was around -- not so much otherwise.

I'm sure he was happy to get back to rooting up your garden. lol.

Have a great day.

Um ... awesome! Hey! I haven't been around as much as I should here at your blog. Just wanted to stop and say hey. That mole is adorable.

I've missed you, Mouse!! Good to see ya!!

Snow: ugly?? Are you kidding? He's the cutest thing and I was sooo tempted to keep him. As for the garden, Stars prefer moist places and even love to swim, so he's not too interested in my garden. He's more interested in insects than plants, so he's welome to root around if he feels like it. lol
