100 Days of Homesteading Happiness: Day 3

Blueberries!! Well, right now they are GREENberries, but soon they shall be blue. Just since I took this pic, one has turned a lusty shade of purple.

I only wish I could remember which variety of blueberry bush this is. We just have the one..well, I did plant one more but it's still teensy...so it must be self-pollinating.  We got over a gallon of berries off this single bush last year!  They are perfect berries, too, not too tart, not too sweet.

I didn't manage to make preserves or anything, though.  We ate them as fast as they ripened.  Little Sis ate most of them, doctors orders, when she had mono last year.  Frozen blueberries are the bomb for a sore throat, and the antioxidants can't be beat.

Just one more happy thing!! :)
